Meet Our Pastor

Rev Monika Bereczki-Farkas
If you have found our website, welcome. This is a long overdue message from me.
I began serving at St. Andrew’s Petrolia in November 2024. I knew I should write something for the website, but I wanted to be sure that what we do here is truly about our Lord Jesus Christ. I did not want to make promises or write something centered on myself, it has to be about Him.
Yes, I am someone who loves Jesus. I am also a mother and a pastor, and God knows how many other roles I try to fulfill. But at the heart of it all, I am simply someone who loves Jesus.
I love to talk about Jesus, to sing about Him, and to share His love with others. My hope is to encourage people to come to Him, to know Him, and to grow in a real and personal relationship with Him. This journey is not about me, it is about Him, whose love is beyond anything we can measure.
When I was a child, my grandmother taught me how important it is to have a personal relationship with God. She took me to church every Sunday; we prayed and sang together. Sometimes I was the only child there, but I loved those days and the people who nurtured my faith.
One day, I received a poem about a special traffic sign that points people to Jesus. That image has stayed with me. This is how I see myself: an instrument, a sign in Jesus’ hands. When we allow Him to work through us, nothing is impossible, and even miracles can happen.
Come and taste and see that the Lord is good. Come and worship with us.
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35
