Meet Our Pastor

Rev Katherine Hawley

After being in ministry for 30 years, I still feel called by God to be a pastor and to preach His Word. My husband Paul is my partner and support in ministry. Without him, I could not do this. We have 3 children and 6 grandchildren, all of whom are serving God in their respective ministries.

I believe that “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man (or woman) of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16,17. I find the Word of God inspiring and beautiful and I love to share it with the church in relevant ways so that we don’t just know it, but that we live it out in our lives.

I get along with people of all ages and have, along with the church leadership, developed ministries to address all different age groups in the past.

I believe that Jesus saves and that it is the believer’s calling to share the love of God and the message of salvation with all who are ready and with all who are needy.

I believe that prayer is essential to the success of any church and is absolutely necessary in maintaining a growing and dynamic relationship with the Lord.

I believe that the Holy Spirit comes alongside believers to empower, guide, comfort and inspire. Bible Study is always conversational, taking either topical studies or verse-by-verse book and chapter studies. Everyone is encouraged to share in the round-table discussions.

I like to visit people, especially the elderly, but I encourage everyone not to feed me too much as this would not fit in with my new year’s resolution. LOL!

Music is a big part of ministry and is a beautiful gift from God by which people are enabled to worship the Lord. I enjoy playing several instruments.

I look forward to meeting the congregation of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church and to engage with my colleagues in ministry to reach out to the community of Petrolia, Ontario and surrounding area.

God bless you!  See you in church!!
